Monitoring
Aquatic Conditions
MRC and HRC both have key aquatic resources which are tracked through various monitoring programs. Both companies complete watershed analysis on their major streams and rivers to assess baseline aquatic conditions.
Mendocino Redwood Company, LLC
MRC focuses its other monitoring efforts on understanding the distribution and habitat of sensitive aquatic species such as coho and steelhead, red-legged frogs, and tailed frogs. For more detailed results of these monitoring efforts, please see the following reports:
Humboldt Redwood Company, LLC
Meanwhile, HRC focuses its monitoring efforts on in-stream conditions, constructed and re-constructed road sites on stream crossings, and overall watershed conditions including landslide monitoring. HRC conducts extensive monitoring in conjunction with its Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP). For those reports, see the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) Annual Reports page on this web site (link to Reports-HCP). For more information on HRC's aquatic monitoring efforts not associated with the HCP, please see the reports below. Reports prior to 2008 that are made available here were submitted by the previous landowner (PALCO).
