Many of us here at HRC are receiving requests for charitable contributions to worthwhile non-profit organizations in Humboldt County. We think this is great timing as we are currently forming the HRC Community Action Team (CAT). This cross-functional and diverse group of HRC employees will review all charitable or non-profit contribution requests (including non-monetary requests). The CAT will be provided a meaningful annual budget to distribute primarily within Humboldt County. They have a proven process whereby all requests are submitted by a deadline each year (for 2009 donation requests the deadline is 12/15/2008). This enables the Community Action Team to view all requests side-by-side, for fair and equal consideration by the team. The attached letter will be mailed out soon to those organizations who in recent years received some support from Pacific Lumber Co., and it provides information on how to submit requests to the CAT.
